Wynea LaVerne McCorry, age 60, of Jersey City, NJ and formerly of Paducah, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, at her residence.

She was of the Baptist faith, attending Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church and the Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries while residing in Paducah. Wynea received an associate degree from the former West Kentucky Technical College and was formerly employed with the New Jersey Transit System in Jersey City.

She is survived by one son , Willie Allen, Jr. of Washington, D.C.; three daughters , Wylayea Allen, Wylashia Allen, and Jade Grant, all of Jersey City, NJ; three sisters , Janice McCorry-Butler of Paducah, Rhonda Smith of New Concord, KY and Stephanie McCorry of Dallas, TX; one brother , Colonel Terrell McCorry of Oklahoma City, OK; several nieces, nephews, and cousins .

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse "JW" W. McCorry, Sr. and Lettie Lee Cobb McCorry and one brother, Jesse "JW" McCorry Jr., maternal grandparents, Alex and Inez Cobb, paternal grandparents, Rhoden and Emma McCorry and one aunt, Elizabeth Jean Russell.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Heady officiating

There will be no visitation.
