Obituary
Willie James Smith, 84, of Paducah, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, 4:20 am, at McCracken Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He attended Clay Street Christian Church of Paducah, KY and Second Christian Church of Mayfield, KY. He retired from the City of Chattanooga, TN City Refuse Department and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by two sons, Roger Smith of Chattanooga, TN and James Dewayne Smith of Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Evelyn Hayes of Los Angeles, CA; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Percy and Iona Clay Smith; one son, Robert James Smith; one brother and three sisters.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 20, 2014, 12:00 Noon, at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Reverends Dennis Gray and Lawrence Penn officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may also call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour.
