Walter Spann, Jr., age 74, of Paducah, passed away, Sunday, December 17, 2017, 5:38 p.m., at Baptist Health of Paducah.

He was a member of Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries where he served as a deacon and in the finance ministry. He was a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years , Sharon Cox Spann of Paducah; three sons , Kevin Spann of Paducah, Ronnie Williams of McComb, MS and David Spann of Austin, TX; one daughter , Terri Spencer of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren ; one great-granddaughter ; one sister , Cecelia Briggs of Gulfport, MS; one niece ; three nephews ; and several cousins .

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Spann, Sr. and Viola Jenkins Spann and two sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 21, 2017, 3:00 p.m ., at Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries with Reverend Thaddyeus Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12 Noon at Kentucky Veterans West Cemetery, Hopkinsville, KY

The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
