Funeral Service for Velma Blanton Stubblefield, 90, Paducah, formerly of Murray, KY, will be Tuesday, August 26, 2008, 1:00 P.M., at St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Murray. Reverend Ronald Kendrick and Reverend C.E. Timberlake will officiate, and burial will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Stubblefield died on Friday, August 22, 2008, 10:31 P.M., at Western Baptist Hospital.

Friends may call at St. John Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Stubblefield, a homemaker, was a longtime member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Murray and a former member of Virgin Chapter #5, Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by:

Several Nieces and Nephews including a Nephew – George Catlett of Paducah, KY

Several Great, Great Great Nieces & Nephews & Cousins.


She was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe Stubblefield, her parents Washington
"Babe" Blanton & Lilly Parker Blanton; a son James Wallace Stubblefield; two brothers and three sisters.
