Vannil Martinal Matthews, age 59, of San Diego, CA formerly of Paducah, KY passed away on August 11, 2022 at Grossmont Hospital in San Diego.

He served in the United States Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leon Matthews and Lillie Mae Morrison Matthews; Grandparents, Rufus and Mable Morrison; three uncles, Leonard Morrison, Buster Morrison and Neal Morrison.

Family members surviving are two brothers, Bravies (Sheila) Morrison of Metropolis, IL; Elder Calvin (Michelle) Matthews of Jackson, TN; a sister, Joyce Marchelle (Marcus Jones) Farley of Cincinnati, OH, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022, 4:00 P.M., at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Elder Calvin Matthews and Reverend Alfred Anderson officiating.

All in attendance are asked to wear a mask.
