Funeral services for Thomas Murdock, 79, of Paducah will be Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, 1 p.m. at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home. Rev. Ronnie Coneal will officiate and burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mr. Murdock died of natural causes, Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, 2:15 a.m. at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Murdock was a former member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Junction, Tenn. He was a self-employed mechanic and was formerly employed with the Illinois Central Railroad and Mercer Service Station.
Friends may call at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home on Saturday for visitation from noon until the funeral hour.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Murdock, Jr. and Jerry (Tammie) Murdock, both of Paducah; five daughters, Billie Hixon, Minister Barbara (Samuel) Burrage, Phyllis Murdock and Kathy (Christioper) Francis, all of Paducah, and Danna Harris of Gary, Ind.; six grandsons, Andre' Bennett, Jerry Blue, Kiel Francis, Jordan Murdock, Terrell Murdock and Joshua Murdock, all of Paducah; two granddaughters, Vickie hollis of Brookport, Ill., SaMee of Chicago; a stepgranddaughter, Charmaine (Kerrie) Wadell of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Clara Jenkins of Wyandanch Long Island, N.Y., two brothers-in-law, Amos (Theola) Jenkins of Paducah and Junior Bush of massapequa, N.Y.; one daughter-in-law, Ester Anderson of Grand Junction, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren;; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parent, Epps and Mary Murdock; his former wife of 40 years, Cora Mae Jenkins Murdock; wo sons, Randy D. Murdock and Willie B. Anderson; a brother, Murry Murdock; and a sister, Kathryn Bush.
