Thelma Nezeb Rogers Prather passed away on September 11, 2024, at 9:10 p.m., at Baptist Health Paducah. Born in Tiptonville, TN on August 16th, 1930. Thelma Nezeb Rogers Prather was welcomed into the world by the late, Wesley Rogers and Ola Mae Coleman.

Thelma worked hard to take care of her children, at times holding several jobs in Environmental Services to provide for them.  She loved music and would often show onlookers a few dance moves.  She loved the bible; being a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, she was always willing to spread the gospel.

Thelma and her husband, George William Prather, shared the joy of having and raising their nine children together in the Anderson Court Complex. Seven of the nine have transitioned before her, two daughters, Shirley Ann Freeman, Rachel Mae Prather and five sons, Roger Andra Prather, George K. Prather, Tony Mark Prather, Samuel Todd Prather and Don M. Prather.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  Two Daughters, Linda Dyson (Charles) and Thelma Leavell both of Paducah, KY; 23 Grandchildren, Several Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren, Cousins and Friends.

We will miss her dearly.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Guy Jones officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Entombment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
