Sonia Lynn Davis Orr, age 62 of Paducah, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019, 1:44 a.m. at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City, KY.

She united with Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries under the pastorate of Reverend James A. Turner, Jr. She was a former member of the church choir.

Sonia received her Associates Degrees in Business Administration from Draughon's Business College and Paducah Community College. She also completed and 80-hour class at Paducah Area Vocational Education Center in cash register and front-end operating a grocery store.

She was previously employed as a bookkeeper at Paducah Bank and a door greeter at Walmart.

Sonia had a heart for music and was lead singer in the family band and played the organ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Speers and Evelyn Jean Davis Cork and her first husband Curlee Simmons.

She is survived by One son; Auntoine (Ellen) Simmons of West Paducah, KY; Five grandchildren; Dontavien M. Johnson, West Paducah, Rebecca Melloy, Sean McDill, Trisha McDill all of Spokane, WA, Ashley Paul of Utah; Three Great- Grandchildren ; Anyha Johnson, Chase Johnson, and Nova Johnson all of West Paducah; Two sisters; Betty L. Hamilton and Cheryl Cork-Benson of Paducah; One aunt; Earline Howell of Cleveland, OH; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, November 11, 2019, 12:00 Noon at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Wendell Gray and Reverend Dr. Thaddyeus W. Thompson Sr. officiating.

Friends may also call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
