Sharon Elaine Smith Burgher age 71, of Newburgh, Indiana formerly of Paducah, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

Sharon was of the Baptist faith and had attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral guidance of the late Reverend Jimmy Hodge and had also attended CenterPoint Community Church in Evansville, IN.  She was a 1970 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and was formerly employed with Burger King.

Sharon is survived by family and friends who loved her who included : Two Sons, Phillip (LaTonya Casey) Smith of Paducah, KY and  Ronald Smith of Peekskill, NY; Four Granddaughters, Christiana Carruthers of Evansville, IN, Breeanna Clough of Peekskill, NY, Chantae Spencer and Talaya Garnett, both of Paduch, KY and Sharee Mathis of Louisville, KY; Three Grandsons, Montez Smith, Zykell Smith, and Jaron Casey, all of Paducah, KY; Six Great-Grandchildren; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends including Her Close Friends, Emma Jones and Wanda Johnson.

Sharon was also preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Voris G. Smith, Sr. and Amanda Lucille Jefferson Smith; her daughter, Chevelle Spencer; five sisters, Louise Smith, Shirley Armstrong, Carolyn Sebree, Brenda Quinn, and Diane Pollard and one brother, Voris "Smitty" Smith, Jr.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, September 16, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Wade officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
