Sarah Dance Wilson, age 93 of Paducah, the last of the original Dance family went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at approximately1:00 p.m. at her residence in West Paducah, KY.

Sarah was a longtime and the oldest member of Oakalone Christian Church where she served in the Culinary Department until her health began to decline. She graduated from West Paducah High School and was a homemaker.

Sarah loved cooking, washing clothes and ironing. Her family stated she was definitely not "old fashioned" but rather a self-sufficient woman with a big heart who cared for and served people in any capacity that she could never meeting a stranger. Everyone she came in contact with loved her and, in return, she demonstrated love for them. She was a mother to anyone that she could be. Sarah sacrificed her life to save a child whom she adopted as her own.

Preceding Sarah in death were her husband, Leroy Wilson; her parents, Joe Dance and Rosetta Carruthers Dance; three brothers, Fredrick Dance, Calvin Dance and Thomas Lee Dance, six sisters, Maudree Dance Rouse, Ethel Dance Bailey, Lula Mae Dance Rouse, Estella Dance Ferguson, Marie Dance McGee and Mary Lee Dance Titsworth and two great-grandchildren, Eric Wilson and Tavon Wilson.

Sarah leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Bernice Wilson of West Paducah, one son, James Wilson of Paducah; several, grandchildren, great-grandchildren including Emmanuel Wilson, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

At the request of the family there will be no services.
