Sandra Curcell Bowen, 64, of Paducah, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016, 3:18 p.m., at Lourdes Hospital of Paducah.

She was a member of White Oak Missionary Baptist Church where she had served as church treasurer and was past president and member of the church choir. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in social work from Murray State University and was a retiree of West Kentucky Community and Technical College as a General Education Degree (GED) instructor.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 42 years, Daryl E. Bowen one daughter, Daria Sonnette Bowen and one son, Torrance Leon (Bowen) Travis, all of Paducah; one grandson; one granddaughter; four brothers, Lamont Travis of Norfolk, VA, William Joel "BoBo" Travis of Jacksonville, FL and Joe Byron Travis, Jesse Arnette Travis and one sister, Wanda LaJune Travis, all of Paducah; four aunts and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Curcell "WC" Travis and Doris Maryland Williams Travis and a son, Travis Eugene Bowen.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 29, 2016, 1:00 p.m., at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Calvin R. Cole, Sr. and Reverend K. Deon Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
