Upon reaching his Heavenly Home, Sammie E. Taylor smiled into his Heavenly Father's face as he said, "Well Done, thou good and faithful servant."  When he arrived at his new home, Sammie had reached the earthly age of 95 years, 5 months and 1 day.  Sammie was born to Ambrose Taylor and Tennia Hayes Taylor in Jackson, TN, on January 10, 1928.

Sammie was a member of Ware Memorial Church of God In Christ where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent and as the church guitarist.  He had received an associate's degree in Masonry from the former West Kentucky Vocational School and was retired as a general mechanic of the US Postal Service where he kept the machinery running in mint condition.

Sammie met and married the woman of his dreams, Dorothy Jones.

This union was held dear until death invaded their midst.  Sammie was also a Veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Navy, serving faithfully and patriotically during the 1950's,

Sammie was an avid woodworker; he built lots of furniture.  He had raised hogs which led to his expert ability to cure meat that would melt in your mouth.  His skill of masonry led to his being a part of constructing the Kroger at Hannan Plaza.

Sammie is survived by His Lovely Wife of 61 Years, Dorothy Taylor of West Paducah, KY; Five Children, David Taylor, Vanessa Knight, Mark (Jamie) Taylor, and Denise Marshall, all of Paducah, KY, and Gloriadean Colvin of Indianapolis, IN; an Abundance of Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.

Sammie was preceded in death by His Parents, Ambrose Taylor and Tennia Hayes Taylor; Three Sons, Sammie H. Taylor, Willie Taylor and Fred Taylor; Two Brothers, James Taylor and Thad Taylor.

Sammie E. Taylor leaves his many fond memories to all who knew and loved him so well.

Funeral arrangements have been set for Wednesday, June 21, 2023, 12:00 NOON, at Ware Memorial Church of God In Christ with Dr. Marshall Chambers officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
