Rosa Lee Jackson, 81 days, 1 month and 28 days old, left this earthly life for eternal rest on Friday, November 20, 2009, 12:30 P. M., at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Rosa was born to the late Jimmy Jackson and Bessie Shurn on September 22, 1928, in Paducah.
Rosa was a devoted member of Rosary Chapel. She worked as a Teacher's Aide at Head Start of Paducah and at Gladman's Laundromat. Rosa enjoyed gardening, her specialty being growing tomatoes. She enjoyed reading and taking good care of her grandchildren. Rosa loved playing softball with the family. She was involved in local politics and was often on the campaign trail. Rosa was a loving mother, grandmother and a devoted friend.
She was also preceded in death by three sons, James Stuart Whiteside, Lorenzo Herbert Matchem, and an infant son; one granddaughter, Gerica "ZuZu" Kohlheim, two brothers Lorenzo Jackson and Jimmy "Buddy" Jackson,and sisters Magnolia Moxley and Mary Woods.

Eight Daughters: Chen LaRue Matchem, of West Paducah, KY, Gilda Matchem Kohlheim, Peggy (Huey Sr.) Matchem Gary, Madonna Lee Matchem, Mercedes Matchem (Thomas Sr.) Powers, Lucinta Matchem Jones, Babretta Matchem Bly, all of Paducah and Sheila Rawlins (James) Harris, Jackson, TN
25 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, a Host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and a wide circle of friends.
