Bobby Stanley Staples, Sr., 70 years, 04 months, and 26 days of age, left this earthly life for eternal rest from Lourdes Hospital on Friday, December 5, 2008, at 5:10 a.m. He was born to the union of Frances E. Parker Staples and the late Willard Staples in Kuttawa, Kentucky, on July 9, 1938.
Bobby was of the Baptist faith and was a Veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Marines. While serving his country during the Korean War, Bobby received medals of honor for good conduct and expert rifle marksmanship. He was a former member of Stone Square Lodge #5 and Balkis Temple #156, a graduate of Lincoln Ridge Institute, Lincoln Ridge, Kentucky and attended Paducah Community College. Bobby was employed as an operator with the United States Corps of Engineer for 31 years before his retirement and had served as a security guard at the McCracken County Courthouse.
Bobby married the woman of his dreams, the former Elsie Mae Blue on October 3, 1963. 2008 brought them to celebrate their 45th anniversary.
He leaves to cherish loving memories his wife Elsie M. Blue Staples, Paducah; his mother France E. Parker Staples, Paducah; a son Bobby Stanley Staples, Jr., Paducah; two daughters Roberta Mischele Parker and Helena Francine Staples, both of Paducah; eleven grandchildren; a great granddaughter; his brother Troy Blue, Paducah; five sisters Margaret Faulkner, Lillian Tyler, Brenda Blue and Phyllis Kilby, all of Paducah, and Gloria Magee of Downey, CA; his aunt Pearline Moody, Kuttawa; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
