Robert Earl Jackson was born May 26, 1944, the son of the late J.C. Jackson and Viola Boaz Jackson McKenzie, in Paducah, Kentucky. After 75 years, 1 month and 10 days here on earth, Robert left this mortal life behind for immortality on Saturday, July 6, 2019, 8:37 a.m., from the Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah. Although the earthly chain of life lost one more link when Robert entered immortality, he did join his other family members who had gone on before, including his son Joseph Shackelford, three brothers, Ronald McKenzie, Ronnie McKenzie and L.A. Jackson and one sister, Violet Marie Broady.

Robert was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church. He was a graduate of the former Lincoln High School and was formerly employed as a prep man with the Ford Motor Company. Robert Earl had also worked other jobs to live a comfortable life. These jobs were with Corvette Lanes where he served in custodial care and as a pin-man as well as serving as a refuse technician with the city of Paducah.

Robert, the family jokester, loved making people laugh and having fun with whoever he came in contact. He was even a conversationalist who was missed by everyone when he wasn't in their company. Robert loved watching television, especially his soaps and sports, having the University of Kentucky Wildcats as his favorite basketball team.

He leaves the following to remember him as a great and caring family man: His Wife of Almost 21 Years , Classie Elmore Jackson, Paducah, KY; Two Sons , Kevin Jackson, Springfield, TN and Earl Jackson, Paducah, KY; One Daughter , Shay Mason, Decatur, GA; Five Step-Sons , Larry Elmore, Alfred (Colita) Mayes, and Edward Shackelford, All of Paducah, KY, Joel (Tima) McElroy, Tampa, Fl, and Marshall McElroy, Metropolis, IL; Two Step-Daughters , Dalletha (Charles) Gerrard and Cheryl Matchem, Both of Paducah, KY; One Sister , Erma Jackson, Paducah, KY; and Two Brothers , William A. McKenzie and Darrel (Lynn) McKenzie, Both of Paducah, KY; 27 Grandchildren; 37 Great-Grandchildren; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends .

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at Christ Temple Apostolic Church with Rev. Anthony Walton officiating. Burial will follow on Thursday, July 18, 2019, 10:00 a.m., in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
