Robert Lee Hicks, Jr. at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 7 days went to be with his Lord and Savior.  He passed into eternity on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, 4:06 a.m., from his residence in Metropolis, Illinois.  He was born in Paducah, Kentucky as the son of the late Robert Lee Hicks, Sr. and Dorothy Burnett Hicks.  Robert has also been preceded in death by his son, Eric Bray and his adopted mother, Emily Harper Harris.

Robert attended Mt. Horeb with his lovely wife, Linda Bray Hicks.  He was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and was formerly employed as an operator for the city of Metropolis, Illinois.

Robert was well-known around the area.  He never met a stranger; therefore, he would carry on conversations with whoever he met, especially at the local Casey's General Store.  Robert was a motorcyclist and oftentimes rode the highways with his wife accompanying him.  He not only thoroughly enjoyed styling in his hot rod cars, but was one who was able to keep them running in tip top shape with his mechanical skills.  Most of all, Robert genuinely loved his wife, Linda, his children, and spending extra granddad-time with his grandchildren.

Robert was a true family man who loved His Wife Of 38 Years , Mrs. Linda Bray Hicks of Metropolis, IL ; His Son , Robert Bray of Metropolis, IL ; His Two Daughters , Felicia (Lowell) Johnson of  Metropolis, IL and Lateria Ferguson of Nashville, TN ; 16 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren ; One Sister , Janie Foster of Metropolis, IL ; Two Brothers , James Williams of Metropolis, IL and Eddie Hicks of Washington, DC ; A Special Son , Mike (April) Harris of Paducah, KY ; Several Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives, Cousins, and Friends .

Robert Lee Hicks, Jr. will be overwhelmingly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, December 6, 2021, 12:00 Noon, at Mt. Horeb in Metropolis with Pastor Gregg Pruitt and Reverend Michael Wade officiating.  Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.

Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
