Robert Anthony Harris who passed into eternity on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, 8:52 p.m., at the St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, was born on June 17, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois.  His parents were Duke Harris, Jr. and Arlillian Young Harris and his earthly life had lasted for 58 years, 1 month and 23 days.

Robert was of the Catholic Faith.  He was a graduate of Paul L. Roberson High Scholl of Chicago, Illinois and was formerly employed as a longtime over-the-road truck driver for Eagle Wings Transportation.

Robert was a wonderful loving caretaker and provider for his family and friends.  It did not matter who; he was willing to help anyone.  He had a favorite saying of his own, "Hello, Beautiful".  This greeting made many faces light up with big wide smiles of those of whom he was speaking.  Robert was quite the cook, especially when he fired up the grill.  He was well-known for his barbecue pork shoulder, deep-fried turkeys and his fried cabbage.  And, man, was it all good!!!  Robert also had an ear for good music; his favorite group was Frankie Beverly and Maze.

He leaves both family and friends to mourn his passing:

Bush, Merrillville, IN, Christopher Campbell, Beryn, IL, Michael Carter, Chicago, IL, Tanzania (James) Patten-Alexander, Manassas, VA; , One Aunt , Alpha (LeRoy) Johnson, Maywood, IL; One Uncle , Ivory Martin, Schamburg, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends including Thomas (Bang) Willett, Rick Gilbert, Alfred Mayes, Cynthia Pace and Antonio Askew.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Duke Harris, Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Owen Young and Nora Powell Young; paternal grandparents, Duke Harris, Sr. and Mamie Williams.

Robert Anthony Harris will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 20, 2021. 1:00 p.m. at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home.
