Ricky Bernard
Cole
October 2, 1970 – March 24, 2026
Ricky Bernard Cole, entered eternal rest at the age of 55 years, 5 months and 22 days at his residence on March 24, 2026. He was born to Billy Cole and Janice Cole Hamby on October 2, 1970 in Jackson, TN.
He was a United States Army Veteran. Ricky obtained his certification as an electrical journeyman and attended Rets Electronic Institute in Louisville, KY.
Ricky was a man defined by his selflessness, faith, humor, and friendliness. A proud Army veteran, he served his country with honor during the Gulf War, including Operation Desert Storm, and carried that same spirit of dedication into everyday life—often helping the homeless and putting others before himself.
A devoted Christian, baptized a young age at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Ricky loved God wholeheartedly, and his faith guided the way he lived. He found joy in simple pleasures—fishing, grilling, cooking in the kitchen, gardening, watching cooking shows, and listening to hip hop and rap music, including artists like Jeezy. Warm and approachable, he was always ready to strike up a conversation or share a smile with people he met. Ricky was also a passionate Kansas City Chiefs fan, cheering on his team with enthusiasm. Known for his humor, he loved to joke and laugh, bringing joy to those around him.
Above all, Ricky cherished his family. He deeply loved his children, shared a close bond with his brother who preceded him in death, and held his beloved grandmother dear. His laughter, friendliness, and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Cole, grandparents, Richard Cole and Maple Cole Branch and step grandfather, Robert Branch.
Ricky is survived by his son, Rashaan Cole and daughter, Kylee Cole both of Paducah, KY; his father, Billy Cole of Jackson, TN and his mother, Janice Cole Hamby of Paducah, KY; two sisters, Anita Beard of Jackson, TN and Kate Fermi of Rhode Island, eight uncles, Richard Cole, Jr., Reverend Cecil Cole and John (Ann) Cole all of Jackson, TN, Chester (Gloria) Cole of Olympia, WA, Quentin (Katrina) Cole of Dallas, TX, Calvin (Denise) Cole of Columbia, SC, Jimmy (Tonya) Cole of Florence, KY, and Jessie Cole of Paducah, KY; one aunt, Leona (Andrew) Mason of Paducah, KY and a host of cousins and friends.
Ricky’s life was a reflection of service, faith, humor, and joy—a life that left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 10, 2026, 12 noon at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Cecil Cole and Evangelist Melanie Nunn officiating.
