OBITUARY
Mark 16:15 – "And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel
to every creature."
The Reverend Carl Alexander was born on March 12, 1910 to the late Willie Alexander and Maggie Jones Alexander in Henry, Tennessee. On Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at approximately 12:40 pm, Reverend Alexander at the wondrous age of 103 years, 5 months, and 9 days, having answered his call from his Savior, "Come unto me and rest," is now resting in heavenly peace after having fought a good fight, having finished his course, and having kept the faith. Now he is wearing the crown of righteousness which was laid up for him which the Lord, the righteous judge, gave him at that day.
Reverend Carl Alexander gave his life to Christ at a tender age which led to his becoming a Preacher of the Gospel of Christ. As he grew in the Lord his life became an example to follow. He was led by Christ in becoming the proud Pastor of White Oak Missionary Baptist Church which was the first flock he led. Reverend Alexander, well known by now in the tri-state area, also pastored the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Choates, Illinois. Continuing his ministry in the Lord, Reverend Alexander organized and became pastor of the new Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church where he ministered faithfully and untiringly until his health began to fail. Even then, he continued to be at church whenever he was physically able. He was blessed beyond measure and received his Doctor of Divinity Degree, one of many of his accomplishments, from the Hopkinsville College of the Bible in Hopkinsville, KY.
Reverend Alexander was very enthusiastic in preaching the Gospel and could quote scriptures by memory and never miss a word, an anointing from God above. He sponsored and enjoyed singers, groups, and quartets from all over the United States. As senior pastor of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, he was instrumental in the ordination of Minister Henrietta Owens who is now serving as Assistant Pastor of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
Reverend Alexander loved people and loved to talk over the phone to his family and the many many friends he had made down through the years. At a very young age, Reverend Alexander was an avid baseball player. His speed in running from base to base and at many times stealing to the next base and even to home plate earned him the nickname of "Track Man", a name that so many people lovingly, affectionately, and respectfully referred to him even unto this day. "Trackman" was known to be the "SHOE SHINE KING" at the Arcade Barber Shop where he set up shop for 70 faithful years before his retirement. He had also been employed by the Guy Gray Supply Company and at the Charles Hamilton Barber Shop.
At heaven's gates, Reverend Alexander was welcomed with open arms by his parents, Willie Alexander and Maggie Jones Alexander; five brothers, Ray Alexander, Reed Alexander, Leo Alexander, Robert Alexander and Homer Alexander; three sisters, Minnie Haynes, Samantha Porter and Hattie Ann Jenkins.
Reverend Alexander, Paducah's "Track Man", leaves to honor and respect his legacy:

Reverend Alexander endured and remained steadfast in Christ and to his ministry until God beckoned him to his heavenly "HOME". His example of true spirituality will be remembered for a lifetime by all who knew and loved him.
