Reverend Roy Earl Meadows, Sr., age 77 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019, 12:38 p.m. at his residence.

He was a member and associate minister of First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis where he served on the Trustee Board and was a Sunday school teacher.

He received his Bachelor's degree from Mid-Continent University and was retired skilled tradesman with General Motors in Pontiac, MI. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

He was preceded in death by his parents Orlando Meadows and Wilma Crim Meadows, two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by His Wife of 51 years; Pearlie Mae Meadows of Metropolis; Two Daughters; Monica Smith, Eldorado,AR; Mena Michelle Atkinson of Metropolis; Two Sons; Roy Earl Meadows Jr., Rochester, Hills,MI; Micheal Maurice Meadows of Oakland Township, MI; Nine Grandchildren; Four Step-Grandchildren; One Sister; Mable Kaye Duffy of Mayfield, KY; One Brother; Rev. Robert Meadows of Indianapolis, IN; several nieces, nephews, cousins.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2019, 12 Noon at First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis with Rev. Theodore Smith and Rev. James Priddy officiating. Burial will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, Illinois.

Friends may call on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home in Paducah, and Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at First Missionary Baptist Church.
