Obituary

Ray'Shawn Lamont Tucker, born August 17, 2003, in Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at Baptist Health of Paducah. Ray'Shawn was a vibrant and free-spirited individual whose life was marked by a profound love for his family, an unyielding strong will, and a deep spiritual foundation. He was raised in the church and was baptized at New Greater Love Church.

Ray'Shawn dedicated his career to serving others in the customer service department at Kroger, where his friendliness and sincerity left a lasting impression on all who encountered him. Beyond his work, Ray'Shawn was passionately involved in football, embracing the joys of the sport as both a player and an enthusiast. His outspoken nature and commitment to speaking his mind reflected the honesty and integrity with which he approached life.

A true nature lover, Ray'Shawn maintained a lifestyle grounded in health and wellness. He was a devout healthy eater, consuming only foods sourced from nature, and believed deeply in drawing energy from the sun and the outdoors. This connection to the earth shaped his identity as a nature person and enriched the lives of those around him.

Ray'Shawn is survived by his devoted father, Raymond Tucker and step-mother. Christy Tucker, along with Demonte (Dawn) Ragsdale, who lovingly nurtured and assisted in raising him, all of Paducah, KY. He leaves behind five brothers—Raymond Tucker, Jr., Darionte Ragsdale, Shamari Ragsdale, Trayvone Grady, and Joeavion Starks—and three sisters—Royalty Grady, Zahria Ragsdale, and Taylor Wells—all of Paducah. He was cherished by his maternal grandparents, Donovan and Tammy Woods of Paducah, and his paternal grandparents, Rosie Tucker of Metropolis, IL, and Frankie (Leon) Drew of Paducah. His special aunt, Deaniecia Drew, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a beloved nephew, Ermias Mael Grady of Mayfield, KY, also mourn his loss.

Ray'Shawn was preceded in death by his mother, Nicole Thomas; sister, Ja’lynn Ragsdale; and grandfather, Troy Jones. Their memory remains a guiding light that will forever influence the fabric of his family's story.

As a man who loved fiercely and lived authentically, Ray'Shawn’s legacy is one of spirited individuality tied deeply to faith, family, and nature. His presence brought joy and inspiration to many, and though his departure leaves a profound void, his spirit endures in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. May his journey onward be filled with peace, as he watches over those who loved him most.
