Quizeda O’da Amos was born on July 18, 1977, to Mai Hayes and James Amos, Sr. in Paducah, Kentucky. She departed this life on May 23, 2026, at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, Tennessee.
As a youth, she attended Ninth Street Church of Christ in Paducah, but later became a member of Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church, also in Paducah.
After graduating from Paducah Tilghman High School, she continued her education earning certification in Business Administration from Daymar College. She was formerly employed at various locations including Captain D’s, Backyard Burgers, Paducah Day Care/Nursery, Kmart, AT&T, and Paducah and Louisville Railway.
Quizeda, affectionately known as “Quee”, was a bright light in our life and a source of joy, laughter, and endless love. Her smile could light up a room, and her laughter was like music that filled our hearts with happiness. She had a way of making everything feel better, brighter, and more hopeful. Her presence was a constant reminder of the beauty and goodness in the world, and that light will never fade from our hearts.
She had a heart full of kindness and compassion. She cared deeply for others, always putting their need before her own. Whether it was a comforting hug, a listening ear, or a thoughtful gesture, she had a way of making everyone around her feel loved and valued. Her kindness was a gift, and it lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She leaves to cherish her memory Two Daughters, Freshondria Thomas and Mai’Kyha Jones; Three Grandchildren, La’Niyah Thomas, Ja’Mieria Thomas, and Riley Carter; her Grand Pets, Scrappy Doo, Scooby Doo, and Chanel, all of Paducah, Kentucky; her Mother, Mai Hayes of Union City, Tennessee; her Father, James (Barbara) Amos; One Sister, Temesha Cullins, of Paducah, Kentucky, and one Pet Sister, Lady Hayes, of Union City, Tennessee; Four Brothers, James Amos, Jr., Mark Buchanon, both of Paducah, Kentucky, Jermaine (Alicia Chantell) Johnson of Lexington, Kentucky, and Cedric Hamilton of Hermitage, Tennessee; Six Uncles, Billy (Queen) Amos, Robert (Shirley) Amos, Milton Paige, all of Paducah, Kentucky, Willis (Catherine) Hayslett, Billy Hayslett, and Jeff (Vikki) Hayslett, all of Union City, Tennessee; Six Aunts, Aunita (Bobby) Barton of Marietta, Georgia, Earnestine Jenkins of Linconlton, North Carolina, Phyllis Amos and Debra Amos both of Paducah, Kentucky, Ina Dowell of Union City Tennessee, and Hilda (Gary) Moore of Martin, Tennessee, and a host of cousins, friends, and special friend sisters.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Odell and Williettie Amos and Henry and Mai Hayslett, Uncle Willie and Aunt Mary Amos, Aunt Pereia Estes, Aunt Emma Paige, and Uncle Richard Amos.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. James L. Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
