Phyllis Ann Strickland Weatherspoon, age 60, of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015, 10:20 p.m. at Metropolis Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Culinary Committee.

She was a graduate of Metropolis Community High School and attended Shawnee Community and Technical College.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her father Julian L. Strickland, her mother Peachie L. Hodge Strickland and four brothers.

Survivors include a daughter , Felicia M. Weatherspoon, Paducah, Ky.; one brother, James L. Strickland, Granite City, Illinois ;two Sisters , Minnie L. Morris, Chicago, Illinois and Juanita Faye Gray, Paducah ,Ky., several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2015, 1:00 P.M. , at First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis with Reverend Orlando McReynolds and Reverend Michael Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery in Metropolis, Ill.

Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour.
