Paula J. Crim, age 67 years 4 months and 18 days of Metropolis, IL, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 19, 2022, 11:08 a.m., at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Paula was born on July 1, 1955 in Metropolis, IL a 1973 graduate of Metropolis Community High School. She went on to receive her Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale, Illinois in 1977. Paula was a retiree of the Massac Unit 1 School District of Metropolis after 36 years of service. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Church in Brownfield, IL where she served as church clerk.

Paula was passionate about cooking and enjoyed sharing recipes and dishes with friends and family. She was an avid reader, sports enthusiast (Go Zags!) and a deep appreciation for Folgers coffee.

Paula loved spending time with family and friends alike while sharing the spirit of love and joys of life with everyone she met.  Mos will fondly remember her smiling face and servant's heart.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years , Ricky L, Crim of Metropolis, IL; two daughters , Brittany C. Freeman of Paducah, KY and Celeste L. Crim of Clarksville, TN; two sons , Johnathan S. Haralson of Nashville, TN and Samuel T. Freeman of Paducah, KY; two grandchildren ; Donovan B. Crim of Carbondale, IL and Destiny B. Freeman of Paducah; one brother , Carl Johnson, Jr. (Sandy) of Metropolis, IL; one sister , Robin Titsworth (Todd) of Metropolis, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins .

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Carl W. Johnson, Sr. and Emma L. Johnson and one brother, Lloyd J. Johnson.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 26, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at Macedonia Church in Golconda, IL with Reverend Benny Heady officiating.  Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery.

Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
