Obituary

Oscar Vanell Woods, lovingly called Vanell by all who knew and loved him, entered into his eternal rest at the age of 71 years, 6 months, and 7 days at Mercy Health Hospital in Paducah, KY, at 11:03 p.m., on Sunday, November 5, 2023.  Vanell was born in Paducah on April 28, 1952, to his parents Otha Majors and Mattie Woods.

Vanell enjoyed watching his movies, hunting, dancing, singing, and having his spirits whenever he desired. He had a great love for ALL children especially his Grandchildren. Everyone could always count on a birthday call and him singing a song, and ending in his favorite saying, "Who Loves You baby!"

He will always be a part of Paducah, Kentucky History for grabbing Tina Turner's leg at the J. C. Civic Center.
