Obituary

Opal Mae Hamilton, at the age of 64 years, 9 months and 12 days, went to live her Lord and Savior from the Countryside Health Center in Bardwell, Kentucky.  Opal was born in Paducah, Kentucky on April 2, 1957 as the beautiful baby girl of the late Thomas James Hamilton and Mattie Meade Hamilton.

As Opal journey down the road of life, she worshipped her Lord and Savior with the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and enrolled on a basketball scholarship at Kentucky State University.  Opal had been a heavy equipment operator and a driver with the Paducah Authority Transit System.

Opal's proudest moments were being "MeMe" to her grandson, Michael Frazier.  She was an artistic person and loved singing and drawing.  Opal shared her talents in shooting the hoops during her high school days and was one to love driving and inspiring others with her traveling.

Opal leaves her family and friends to cherish her many fond memories: Two Sons , Justin Lamar Frazier and Jared Jabar (Shanice) Frazier; One Grandson , Michael Eli Frazier; Two Brothers , George Allen Hamilton and Gary L. Hamilton, All of Paducah, KY ; One Sister-In-Law , Jo Ann Hamilton of Aurora, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews , including Angenett Hamilton Bramley, Beverly Hamilton, LaVon Ellis, Patricia Lamitier, Larry Tyson, Darnell Tyson and LaShawn Davis; Cousins ; and Special Friends , Frankie Ragsdale Drew and Connie Ragsdale.

Opal was also preceded in death by her parents, Thomas James Hamilton and Mattie Meade Hamilton, one sister, Ophelia Hamilton Jones; and three brothers, Charles Franklin Hamilton, Sr., Fredrick "Sonny" Hamilton and Thomas Edward Hamilton.

The life and legacy of Opal Hamilton will be etched in the memory of all of whom she came in contact.

A Service of Celebration has been scheduled for Monday, January 24, 2022, 11:00 a.m., here in the funeral home chapel.  Reverend Michael Wade will officiate and burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
