Melvin Wayne Cawthon, 39, of Paducah, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 5:28 a.m., at Western Baptist Hospital.

Wayne attended the Kingdom Hall and New Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church. He attended West Kentucky Vocational School in Culinary Arts. He worked in Patient Care at Lourdes Hospital and Paducah Centre Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen E. Fisher Cawthon, and grandparents, Melvin and Marion Fisher.

He is survived by his wife, Laura T. Hall-Cawthon, of Paducah; three sons, Ben Hall, Jr., Jewel Hall, and Cedric Hall, all of Paducah; two daughters Kezia McClain and Vonetta Maxwell Hall, both of Paducah; nine sisters, Maraion Garnett, Rhonda Foreman, Tresa Tyler, Gwendolyn Cawthon, Tracy Steen, all of Paducah; Pamela Johnson, of Pensecola, FL; Betty Ware, Mary Rosezetta Cawthon, Linda Tates, all of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Robert Ridgeway, of Paducah and Johnnie L. Cawthon, Jr. of Memphis, TN; his father, Johnnie L. Cawthon, Sr. and Step Mother JoAnn Cawthon, both of Metropolis, IL; nine grandchildren, five aunts, two uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services are scheduled for 12:00 O'Clock Noon, Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home, 1229 Madison Street, Paducah, KY, with Reverends W. G. Harvey, Sr. and Albert E. Frazier Officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a. m. until the funeral hour Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the funeral home
