Obituary
Mattie E. Cousins, 78, died on Monday, January 24, 2011, 2:20 p.m. at Medco Nursing Center of Paducah.
Mattie was a member of Mt Olive Freewill Baptist Church, where she served as an Usher and on the Culinary Arts Committee. She was also a member of the Interdenominational Union Ushers. Mattie was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mattie was preceded in death her parents, Willie Edward Higgins, Sr. and Roberta Carter Higgins; her husband, Floyd Aaron Cousins, seven brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna J. Jackson, and Michelle D.Cousins both of Paducah, KY; four sisters, Velma Brown, of Evansville, IN, Claudia Hay, Rachel Bowman and Pearl Banks all of Henderson, KY; one brother, James Higgins, Downy, CA; one grandson; two aunts, several neices, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be 12 O'Clock Noon, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Bloomfield Avenue, Paducah with Reverend Alfred Anderson and Reverend Donnie Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah with Military RItes.
The family will receive visitors Friday, January 28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home, 1229 Madison Street, Paducah, KY.
