Mary LaVene Crim Harvey, age 92, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019, 9:57 a.m., at her residence.
She was formerly employed at Krypton Assisted Living Home in Metropolis, the Food Bank in Carbondale and retired from the Massac County Courthouse as a bookkeeper
Mary was a member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Metropolis, where she served as church musician.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. John B. Crim and Mary Beatrice Long Crim, seven sisters and one brother.
She is survived by four daughters; Karen Algee, Carbondale, IL; Charlotta Gayle Hayles, Florissant,MO; Kathy Foster, Round Lake Beach, IL; and Ramona Harvey of North Chicago, IL; one son; John Lamarr, Grand Rapids, MI; One Step-Son; Michael Harvey, Chicago, IL; Seventeen Grandchildren ; Twenty Five Great-Grandchildren; One Great-Great Granddaughter , several nieces, nephews, cousins .
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019, 12 noon, at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Metropolis, IL, with Rev. Ronnie Woods and Rev. Stephen Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Choates, IL.
Friends may also call on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
