IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark "Pank"
Dewayne Johnson
December 9, 1958 – August 20, 2023
Mark DeWayne "Pank" Johnson age 64 of Paducah, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, 8:10 p.m. at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah.
Mark accepted Christ at an early age and attended Enoch Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Paducah.
After graduating from Paducah Tilghman High School, Mark was briefly employed at R. H. Mullen Motors before accepting a position with the state of Kentucky at the National Guard Armory. He retired from the National Guard Armory after 27 years of dedicated service.
"Pank" held a crucial role in the lives of all his family. He was a very proud and great father and grandfather who went above and beyond for his family and loved them dearly and unconditionally. Whatever needed to be done, "Pank" was the one who could be depended upon to show up and deliver. He stood up for and by his family no matter what the circumstances were; he was there. No request was too big or too small. Whether it was making a caramel cake, fixing a flat tire, a lawnmower that would not start, or an ear to hear your woes, Mark was that man. He was father figure for every family member.
One of his greatest joys was entertaining his family with delicious, mouth-watering meals, especially his ribs! Mark was quite fond of listening to Tupac and was an avid hunter for rabbits and deer, and for many years he had the privilege of hunting with his brother Anthony and his friends. Pank and Bud had an extremely close relationship since an early age. When you mentioned Pank or Bud to anyone, people would come back at you with "Pank and Bud" or "Bud and Pank" as if they were the same person. His compassion and commitment to the family was further demonstrated in the quality care he gave his mother. Until she passed, he made sure to check on his mother several times a day.
Preceding him in death were his parents, William Johnson and Rosa Nell Hill Caldwell, one sister, Fredricka Caldwell, and infant brother, Ronald Caldwell and maternal grandparents, Tibzell and Ruby Hill.
Leaving behind to cherish fond memories of his love for family are His Wife, Jacqueline Thomas Johnson, Two Daughters, Brianna Hill and Nastasia Johnson; Three Sons, Ricky Lamar Hall, Mark Hall and Markell Johnson all of Paducah; Seven Grandchildren, Tariq Griffin, Jaylen Hall, Kyler Hall, Ryleigh Hall, Jace Hall, McKenna Hall and Skye Youngblood; One Great-grandson, Namari Amir Griffin; Three Brothers, Anthony Hill and Jeffery Johnson all of Paducah and Kenneth Johnson of Chicago, IL; Five Sisters, Rosalind Cald-well, Lydia Hill, Betty Hill and Daphne Rouse all of Paducah and Gail Morris of Chicago, IL; Two Uncles, Harold Hill and Tibzell (Willie Mae Freeman) Hill; One Aunt, Ernestine Everett all of Paducah; and a Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
