Funeral service for L.V. Edgar Martin, age 80, of Paducah will be held Thursday, February 7, 2008,
at 12 o'clock noon at the New Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Pryor and
Rev. Lawrence James to officiate. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery of Brookport ,Illinois.

Mr. Martin passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008, 7:50 A.M. at Medco Center of Paducah.

He was a member of Brookport Unity Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee and Sunday School Teacher. He was employed as a truck driver for many years for various companies.

Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Two Sisters, Mary Taylor & Ethel Coffie both of Paducah, Ky.

Seventeen (17) Grandchildren, Twenty-Seven Great Grandchildren, Several Step-Grandchildren & Step-Great Grandchildren; 2 Nieces, 7 Nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Freeman Martin, Four Brothers, and Two Sisters. His Parents were Issac Martin II and Gracie Martin Shannon.

OBITUARY

LV Edgar Martin, was born April 16, 1927, in Shady Grove of Brookport, Illinois, to the union of the late Isaac Martin and Gracie Patterson Martin. On Saturday, February 2, 2008, at approximately 7:50 A.M., Edgar was called to his heavenly home for eternal rest from the Medco Center of Paducah . At the time of his demise he was 80 years, 9 months, and 16 days of age. Edgar had been preceded in death by his wife Lena Mae Freeman Martin; four brothers Lester Martin, Isaac A. Martin III, Reverend Clarence Martin and Reverend James Martin; and two sisters Louise Martin and Audrey Wade.

As a young man, Edgar Martin professed a hope in Christ and was baptized into the Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Brookport, Illinois. As a member he served as Sunday School teacher and as a Trustee.

A man of his word, Edgar was fond of fishing and loved to debate topics of interest with family members and friends. Edgar was a retiree of Gross Tie Company after having worked faithfully for over 15 years and had been an over-the-road truck driver for Souders Stockyard.
