Luther S. (Goober) Johnson Jr., age 80 of Paducah, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022, 7:00 p.m. at his residence.

He was a member of New Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and retired from the maintenance department at the United States Enrichment Corporation and was a veteran in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents Luther S. Johnson, Sr. and O. Z. Sherrill Johnson, two brothers, Willie Joe Johnson, Sr. and James Lester Johnson, two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Luten and Leverda Pierson.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jacqulyn Johnson of Paducah; three sons, Craig (Tammy) Johnson, Curtis Johnson of Nashville, TN and Corey Johnson of Paducah; one daughter, Crystal (Alfredo) Thompson of Paducah; twelve grandchildren, Jessica Tolbert, Keshia Thompson, Brooke Johnson, Passion Johnson, Cortavia Johnson, Tyesha Johnson, Craig Johnson, Jr., Tre'shawn Johnson, Peyton, Johnson, Lauren Hobbs, Elexus Johnson and Kylynn Johnson; a host of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vanessa Blakemore and Edna Watson both of Rock Island, IL; three brothers, Percy Johnson and Hildry "Squirrel" " (Gilda) Johnson both of Paducah and Reverend Larry Johnson of Dallas, TX; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 16, 2022, 12 noon at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Johnson and Reverend Eric McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.

The funeral service will be Livestreamed on the Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home, LLC Facebook Page beginning at 11:50 a.m. on Saturday.

Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

All attendees are required to wear a mask.
