Lorene Elizabeth Parker Atkins, went to live with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 20, 2015, 8:42 a.m. from Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. She was at the Blessed age of 98 years, 7 months, and 12 days at the time of her heavenly transition. Lorene was born in Paducah Kentucky on July 20, 1916, to the late Frank Jenkins and Ruby Mae Whitfield. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ocie Parker, Sr. and second husband Walter B. Atkins; three sons, William "W.C." Jones, Walter Atkins, Jr., Sam Atkins, and one sister, Christine Summers

Mrs. Atkins was formerly married to the late Ocie Parker, Sr. and is survived by their children, Freddie Mae (Lenora) Townsend, East St. Louis, IL; Ocie Parker, Jr., Detroit, MI; Loretta Stone, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Shirley (Jesse) Mason, Paducah, KY; seventeen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband's children, John Atkins, Corine Atkins Glore, Bettye Atkins Burney, and James Atkins; daughters-in-law, Jacqueline Atkins, Jeanne Atkins, and Loreen Atkins; other grandchildren, great grandchildren. Mrs. Atkins also leaves to cherish her memory, several cousins and many special, close family friends.
