Obituary
Lonell E. Powell, age 62, of Louisville, formerly of Paducah, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010, 4:13 a.m., at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
He was formerly employed by International Harvester of Louisville and Fisher Body in Flint, Michigan. He was a member of Burks Chapel A. M. E. Church in Paducah. He was a 1965 graduate of the former Lincoln High School.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Thad Powell and a son Ronnie Grinstead.
Powell is survived by his wife, Roberta Powell, Louisville; Three daughters, Brenetta Powell Garrett of Paducah, Aretha Grinstead Simpson and Shalottie Houston both of Louisville, Ky; one son, Byron Powell of Nashville, Tn; His Mother, Anna B. Powell, Paducah, KY; Three sisters, Adelle Ballard, Sandra F. Powell and Anna Powell Scrivener all of Paducah; 14 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; 2 Aunts; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are scheduled for Sunday, February 28, 2010, 3:00 p.m., at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Bloomfield Avenue, with Rev. Alfred Anderson officiating. Burial will be on Monday, March 1, 2010, 9:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
