Lisa Gail Jones, a resident of Brookport, IL, transitioned from this earthly life into everlasting peace on Saturday, August 17, 2024, 1:38 p.m., from Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY.  She was blessed by her Lord and Savior to have travelled life's highway for 49 years, 9 months and 14 days.

Penny Jones Burke and the late Donnie Green welcomed her with the greatest of smiles into their lives on November 3, 1974.

Lisa was a 1992 graduate of Massac County High School and was formerly employed as a receptionist at both Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital and the Orthopedic Institute of West Kentucky. She was a proud and active member of Brookport Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Brookport, IL.

Lisa's selfless love for her children was a beacon of inspiration, always prioritizing their well-being above her own. Her passion for both the Duke Blue Devils and the Philadelphia Eagles paled in comparison to the radiant joy she exuded while cheering for her beloved children from the bleachers. She was the "go to woman" for all things, especially her delicious baked beans and her most famous rice krispies.

Lisa is survived by Her Loving Children, Lakken Jones of Brookport, IL and Tyce Daniel of Cincinnati, OH; Her Mother, Penny Jones Burke; Her Brother, Eric (Zipporah) Wade of Ulin, IL; Her Grandma, Dorothy Jones; A Host Of Loving Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Cousins, and Friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parental grandparents Manuel and Martha Jones and her grandma, Mary Green.

With her loved ones gathered near, this phenomenal woman showed unwavering courage and spirit as she took her last breath, leaving behind a legacy of hope and strength as she went to her final resting place.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, August 24, 2024, 5:00 p.m., at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Aaron Thomas presiding.

Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
