LaVera Roberson Johnson, age 49, Paducah, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011, 10:00 p.m. at Lourdes Hospital.
She was presently employed by the Social Security Administration as a Claims Representative. Johnson was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she served in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Sarah Circle. LaVera was a 1980 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School, a graduate of Murray State University in business administration, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her father, Odell Roberson; a sister, Shirley George; two brothers, Ronald Cobb and James Roberson and her Grandparents, Tommy McCauley, Eugene Roberson and L.C. Roberson.
Johnson is survived by her husband, Gilbert K. Johnson; a daughter, Carmen L. Johnson; a son, Jeffrey G. Johnson; a Granddaughter, Jaylyn N. Johnson; her Mother, Lucy Roberson; two sisters, Fershale Roberson and Beverly Roberson; a brother, Nathaniel (Lisa) Roberson all of Paducah, KY; Maternal Grandmother, Mary McCauley, , Hickman ,KY; a Step-son, Armonde Johnson, Paducah, KY; three Step-daughters, Alicia Johnson and Amina Johnson both of Paducah, KY and Arista Johnson, Jackson, TN; Nine Step-Grandchildren; Brother-In-Law, John B. George, Brookport, IL; Six uncles, Four Aunts, several nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 3, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James L. Hudson and Rev. Corey Aker officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, January 2, 2012, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church.
