Laurie Jones, 86 years and 16 days old, went to spend eternity with the Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2015, 3:30 A. M., from Martin Health Care and Rehabilitation Facility in Martin, TN.

She was born June 11, 1929 to the late Ras and Gabrella Byars Jones in Martin, Tennessee. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Street; four brothers, Bill Jones, Frank Jones, Leroy Jones, and Robert Jones; two sisters, Dorothy Jones and Mary Louise Jones; and one grandson, Renarado Jones.

Laurie was a member of McCabe United Methodist Church, Martin, TN where she served as the church's bookkeeper.

Ms. Jones was a retiree from the environmental services department at The University of Tennessee in Martin, serving for over 38 years before retiring in 2003.

Ms. Jones is survived by: one sister, Mrs. Mattie Harris, South Fulton, TN; one granddaughter Mrs. Isha Wade, Trenton, TN; Three Great-Grandchildren, Marcus Reynolds, Jr., Markel Reynolds, and Kellen Jackson also of Trenton, TN., and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral Service for Ms. Jones will be Thursday, July 2, 2015, 1:00 PM, at McCabe United Methodist Church, 215 Hyndsver Road, Martin, TN 38237. Reverend Orrin Crowley and Reverend Joe Beal will officiate. Burial will follow in Parham Cemetery in Martin.

Friends may also call at the church on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour.
