Kenneth Edward Daugherty, 59, of Brookport, Illinois, died, Saturday, 8:52 a.m., at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis, IL.

He was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Brookport and was a 1968 graduate of Brookport High School. He was a retired UAW at
Caterpillar of Peoria, with over 30 years of service.

He is survived by three sons, Kenneth D. (Margaret) Daugherty of Milwaukee, WI, Derrick La-Mont (Matilda) Daugherty and Kendrick Daugherty, both of Peoria, IL; two daughters, Laura Michelle Daugherty of Milwaukee, and Kendra Daugherty of Peoria; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; four brothers, Leonard Marshall Daugherty of Racine, WI, Henry (Emma) Daugherty of Vancouver, WA, David Ervin (Charlene) Daugherty of Metropolis, IL and Ricky Lenois Daugherty of Treasure Island, FL; two sisters, Ann E. Daugherty of Riverview, FL and Dira Marie Daugherty of Rock Island, IL; one aunt Mable Holloway of Sagninaw, MI and one uncle Joe Shelton of Evansville, IN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard Daugherty and Oneida Shelton Daugherty and one brother Samuel Leon Daugherty.

Friends may call at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be arranged by Simons Mortuary, 912 West John H Gwynn Junior Ave. in Peoria, Illinois on Saturday, June 5, 2010, 10:00 A.M. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and burial to follow in Lutheran Cemetery.
