Juanita Cheryl Collins, age 65, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, 12:19 a.m.at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Metropolis, IL.

She was a member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church where she served on the Usher Board, Missionary Society and was program chairperson.

She was a graduate of Metropolis Community High School and a retiree of the Metropolis Police Department as both a meter maid and a dispatcher for twenty-seven years.

She is survived by her son , Tamu Collins of Metropolis, IL; one sister , Kay Rouse of Paducah; one brother , Ray Collins of Metropolis, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins .

She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney Collins and LoVella Donaldson Collins; her paternal grandparents, Joe and Alice Collins and her maternal grandparents, James and Georgia Donaldson.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2018, 1:00 p.m., at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Metropolis.  Reverend Ronnie Woods will officiate and burial will follow at a later date.

Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
