Obituary

Joseph Neal Young, Sr., AKA-Snooky", beloved son of Joseph Richard Neal Young and Linda A. Young, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 22, 2021, 10:25 p.m. in Kansas City, KS.  He was 57 years of age.

Joseph was born and raised in Paducah, KY and truly loved and benefitted from the nurturing environment provided by his "village" of family and friends.  Upon graduation from Paducah Tilghman High School, he continued his educational development at West Kentucky Vocational School.  He used his training and skill to successfully own and operate Joe Young Construction Company for 29 years.

Joseph was a talented athlete.  In 1983, he achieved the title of "Long Jump State Champion" by jumping a distance of 21 feet 8 ¼ inches.  His enthusiasm for sports wasn't limited to outdoor events.  He loved playing pool and watching his favorite professional football team, the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as the Kentucky Derby.  He was a people-person who loved socializing and taking long drives to simply enjoy the environment.

Joseph began a relationship with Christ at an early age and was a member of Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph Richard Neal Young and Lynda A. Young.

He leaves to cherish his memories: One Daughter , Shynea Smith of Louisville, KY; Two Sons , Joseph Neal Young, Jr. and Brandon Allen Young, both of Kansas City, MO; Five Grandchildren , DeAsia Mack, Kennadee Smith and Victorya Smith, all of Louisville, KY and NaKeal Young and Reagan Young, both of Kansas City, MO; Three Sisters , Tanashea (Paul II) Bell, Sonia (Glenn) Rouse, both of Paducah, KY and Lisa (William) Wheeler of Smyrna, TN; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

Funeral Services have been scheduled for Friday, November 5, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Alfred Anderson and Reverend Michael Wade officiating. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 12 noon until the funeral hour.

Burial will follow at Birmingham Cemetery in Briensburg, Kentucky.

All attendees are required to wear masks.
