Johnnie Kirby, Jr., age 95 of Paducah, transitioned from his earthly life on Thursday, June 23, 2022, 8:35 p.m. at Baptist Health Paducah.

Kirby, as everyone called him, was born in Cadiz, KY on April 25, 1927 and was of the Baptist Faith. He retired from the Steel Mill Industries in Gary Indiana.

Upon moving to Paducah, Kirby enjoyed family and being around people. He was friendly to all, never meeting a stranger. One could describe him as being very personable.

Kirby was cared for diligently by his niece, Kim Froman, until God called him to his heavenly home.

Kirby was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Kirby, Sr. and Hettie Bingham Kirby, his sister, Princella Rutledge and two nephews Bobby Alexander and Chico Rutledge.

Those left to cherish his memories are: three nieces; Kim Froman, Margaret Smith and Hattie Casey; two nephews, W. D. Alexander, and James "Peter" (Arlene Freeman) Alexander, all of Paducah; several great nieces, great nephews including a special great nephew, Terry Froman and other relatives in the Cadiz, KY area.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Wade officiating.

All in attendance are required to wear a mask.

Johnnie Kirby, Jr. will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
