John H. "Sonny" Senter, 64, of Paducah, passed away, Saturday, December 31, 2016, 5:00 PM, at his residence.

He was a member of Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries where he served as a Trustee, a director with the Youth Ministry and choir member.

John was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and West Kentucky State Vocational-Technical School where he received certification in culinary arts. He was formerly employed with the McCracken County Sheriff Department, was a juvenile officer for the McCracken County Detention Center and was a security guard for VMV Paducahbilt. He also served on the Board of Directors for the W.C. Young Community Center.

He is survived by a foster son, Adam Duckwyler; a foster sister, Beverly Duckwyler; a foster granddaughter, Aurora Duckwyler, all of Paducah and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny W. Senter and Mable E. Foster Senter Johns, three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2017, 12:00 Noon, at Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries with Reverend Thaddyeus W. Thompson, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
