John A. Coffie, 88, of Paducah, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013, 12:35 am at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah.
He was a member of St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church where he served as a steward and was a retiree of Smith Construction.
He is survived by three sons, Earl Coffie and Reverend Ronnie Coffie, both of Paducah, and John A. Coffie, Jr. of Detroit, MI; two daughters, Gloria J. Coffie of Paducah and Rose Marie Bowden of Nashville, TN; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Corine Lacy Coffie and his second wife Ruthie Mae Coffie Morris; his parents, Luke Coffie and Florence Sthal Coffie; a daughter, Anna Wilburn, a son, Robert Edward Coffie, seven brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 30, 2013, 1:00 pm, at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Alfred Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may also call on Wednesday at the Funeral Home from 11:00 am until the funeral hour.
