Obituary
John Henry Coardes, Sr., 64, of Paducah, KY, died at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Coardes retired as Senior Operator after 28 years of employment with the United States Enrichment Corporation. He also worked part time as a driver for the Paducah Area Transit System until his death. He graduated from Hempstead High School in Long Island, NY, and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his father Ben Coardes.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue Simmons Coardes, of Paducah; two sons, Brian L. Coardes, of Clarksville, TN, and Glenn Box, of Cairo, IL; one daughter Crystal Denise Wiggins, of Paducah, his mother, Margaret Jefferson; two sisters, Letha Coardes and Gail Coardes; one brother, Ben Coardes of Tampa, FL; 19 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home, 1229 Madison Street, in Paducah. Rev. Dennis Gray will officiate. Burial will be Tuesday at Mounds City National Cemetery in Mounds City, Illinois.
The family will receive visitors Monday, May 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home.
