Joey O'Shea Watson was a self-employed musician who was known for his love of music. It was not out of the ordinary to find him playing his keyboard or the piano sometimes singing and dancing along to his favorite tunes.
Joey was born December 16, 1963, to the parents of Isaac Watson and Edna Johnson Watson.
On January 3, 2025, Joey passed from his earthly existence in the emergency room of Baptist Health Hospital. At the time of his passing, he had lived 61 years, 11 months, and 18 days. He was a Christian man and was baptized at New Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah.
In addition to his music, Joey loved hanging out with his nieces and nephews. He spent a lot of time investing in their happiness by giving them the assurance that they were loved.
He leaves behind to cherish sweet memories One Son, Je'Vion Watson; Three Daughters, Juatena Watson, Valesha Watson, and Jerticia Watson, all of Paducah, Kentucky; Nine Grandchildren; His Mother, Edna Watson of Rock Island, Illinois; a Significant Other, Patricia Griffith of Paducah, Kentucky; Six Sisters, Sheila Mason of Cleveland, Ohio, Constance Dickens (William Lawson) of Rock Island, Illinois, Robin (Lloyd) Strow Phill of Paducah, Kentucky, Trina Searight of Lexington, Kentucky, Audrey Hicks of Moline, Illinois, and Yolanda McIntosh of St. Louis, Missouri; One Brother, Michael Watson of Rock Island, Illinois; Three Uncles, Percy Johnson, Hildry (Gilda) Johnson, both of Paducah, Kentucky, and Larry Johnson of Dallas, Texas; Four Aunts, Nona Bea Watson of Fort Worth, Texas, Nora (Doug) Torian of Brookport, Illinois, Mary Watson of East Moline, Illinois, and Hulene Dunn of St. Louis, Missouri; Several Nieces and Nephews; Special Friends, Ricky Pierson, Mitch Luten, Michael Luten, Tony Blakemore, James Wesley, and Dino, all of Paducah, Kentucky; and a host of friends and family from the Quad City Area.
Preceding Joey in death were his father, Isaac Watson; one brother, James Watson, four aunts, eight uncles and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Joey will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service for Joey will be held here in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Reverend Larry Johnson officiating.
There will be no visitation.
