Joe Eddie Rand, affectionately known as “Coco” was born on December 5, 1955, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Eddie Lee Rand, Linnie Mae Rand and Willie Mulherion.
At an early age, Joe Eddie dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. He was known for his joyful spirit, warm smile, sharp sense of style, generous heart, and deep love for family. A hardworking and self-sufficient man, Joe Eddie enjoyed cooking, dancing, gospel music, decorating, and spending time with loved ones. His caring nature and ability to bring people together made him truly special.
Joe Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sandra Rand; his children, Jolanda Marshelle Rand (Ibrahima Tounkara), Danika Cook, Kadiedra Taylor, Sylvester “Pep” Davis, DeAndre Taylor, and Steven Robinson; eight grandchildren, Jayden Symone Hudson, Hawa Mckai Tounkara, Aicha Zuri-Mae Tounkara, Kanyah Taylor, Kyaire Robinson, Jareavia Wilkins, Deasia Wilkins, and Nina Robinson; his sisters, Lela Guiton, Josephine Smith, Eddie Lee Lowe, Ann Townsend, Ruby Lee, Mary E. Cross, Patricia Smith, Debra Mulherion, and Mae Francis Hegler; his brothers, Michael Jenkins, Olie Horn, and Darnell Guidry Sr.; his mother-in-law, Mary Jane Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Upon taking his heavenly rest, Joe Eddie was greeted at Heaven’s gates by his mother, Linnie Mae Hegler; his father, Eddie Lee Rand; his daddy, Willie Mulherion; his sister, Valarie Moody; and other beloved family members who had gone before him.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Pastor Martha Howell officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
