Jo Martha Clark, age 89 of Metropolis, IL passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, 10:20 p.m.at Massac Memorial Hospital.

She was a longtime member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis where she served as church pianist for over 70 years. Jo Martha loved her family and church family, but most of all she loved Jesus and decided it was time to go to glory.

She retired as a mail clerk from Electric Energy Inc. of Joppa, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Clark Jr., parents Cecil Thomas and Della Bertha Goodman, two daughters, Patsy Crim and Valerie Jean Madison and six siblings.

Jo Martha leaves behind a tribe of grandchildren; great-grandchildren, great-great grands, along with nieces, nephews and many others.

Today's not a day to be sad but to celebrate the well lived life of our grandmommy.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, August 14, 2022, 2:30 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis with Reverend Dr. Orlando McReynolds officiating.  Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. till the funeral hour.

The service will be livestreamed on Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home, LLC Facebook Page beginning at 2:20 p.m.
