Jewell Herman Perry, Jr., 74, Paducah, died Sunday, October 2, 2011, 4:10 a.m., at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.
He was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Marines, serving during the Post Korean War. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and attended West Kentucky Vocational School where he studied shoe repair.
He is survived by a brother, Billy G. Perry and a sister, Ja-Net Perry Freeman, both of Paducah; six nieces, three nephews, several great nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Reverend Jewell Herman Perry, Sr. and Emma Mae Stubblefield Perry; a brother and a sister.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011, 1:00 p.m., at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Calvin R. Cole, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may also call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
