James Dewey Young, age 84 of Paducah, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020, 5:32 a.m. at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah.

He was a member of the former Husband Street Baptist Church,

He retired from Paducah Housing Authority in the maintenance department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A. J. Dawson and Mary Erma Henderson Young, his step-father, Joseph Daniel Young, two sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by three daughters; Stephanie Gant, Columbus OH; Mary Mack, Paducah, KY and Cathy Hall of Clarksville, TN; one son; James Young Jr. of Minneapolis, MN; one brother; Joseph Richard Young of Paducah; step-sister; Sherry Clark of Paducah; step-brother; David Wolfe of Greensboro, NC; eight grandchildren; twenty two-great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m . at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
