James Fredrick Woods Wilson, Sr. of Paducah, KY, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at his residence. At the time of his passing, James had accomplished 50 years, 6 months and 9 days on this earth.

James, a graduate of Heath High School, was formerly employed as a Residential Care Assistant through Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. He was a Christian believer who was blessed to have two mothers.

Although he stood over 6 feet tall, he was a gentle giant who fully embraced life and all it had to offer. His personality stood head and shoulders above his physical size. As a result, he never met strangers. He made it a point to know everybody, and everybody loved his goofy, but loveable personality. His favorite pastimes included playing both music and video games, singing and reading comic books.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Orbie Lee Reed, Leroy Doe Wilson and Sarah Dance Wilson, and a sister, Jawana Hill.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Melonie Foughter Wilson of St. Louis, MO; three daughters, Juanita Wilson of Evansville, IN, Za'Raiviah Wilson and Ja'Meshia Wilson, both of St. Louis, MO; three sons, Javeon Wilson of Paducah, KY, Tyshondrae Hill and James Wilson, Jr., both of St. Louis, MO; two grandsons, Kai'Oyn Gray and Kai'Syn Gray; one granddaughter, Tommie Gray, all of Evansville, IN; his mother, Pam Woods of Paducah; five brothers, Orbie Hill, Delmonico Hill, Jammer Reed, Antonio Casey, Chris Sherley; nine sisters, Bernice Wilson, LaTonya Casey, Barbara "Tootie" Young, Marressa Hill, Modesty Nunn, Elmira Drew, Tyara Reed, Tina Woods, Susan Woods; five aunts, Lillian Scott, Gloria Reed, Jeanola Phelps, Fostina Summers, LaVerne Perkins; an uncle, Lamont Perkins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, along with honorary brothers, Marvin Waldon, June Cummings, Te'Mond Jones, Matthew Warner, Joe Elders, and Marty Grubbs.

Services have been scheduled for Friday, August 4, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Wade officiating.,

Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until he funeral hour.
